Brian Ison, CPP, CFE
Chapter Chair

Brian has worked in risk management and security for over 20 years, getting his start in the industry by running community policing in Southwest Vancouver in cooperation with the Vancouver Police Department. His career led him to work with the credit unions in British Columbia and Ontario, providing risk assessments of credit union branches and quantifying risk from an insurance perspective. In addition to conducting physical assessments, he wrote security, business continuity, and risk management manuals for the Canadian credit union system, and continues to provide risk, security, and best practices training to credit unions across the country. He has also managed national contract security accounts for a large, multi-national security company. Brian is the Managing Partner of Pacrim Risk and Security Consulting.

Brian has a degree in Psychology from the University of British Columbia, is a Certified Protection Professional, a Certified Fraud Examiner, and a certified CPTED practitioner (Levels I and II). He is a former board member of the Vancouver chapter of the Association of Certified Fraud Examiners and is a former Assistant Regional Vice President for ASIS Western Canada.

Liz Jones, CPP
Chapter Vice-Chair

Liz started her career with the Royal Canadian Navy based on Vancouver Island. After leaving the Military, with security operations and emergency response training and experience, a security role was a natural fit.

Liz worked in the security and operations field with several national and international Property Management Companies; 20 VIC Management, Triovest, Bentall Kennedy, and Cadillac Fairview. Now possessing over 15 years’ experience in this field with a background and expertise in Property Management, Security, Life Safety and Emergency Management.

To advance within this industry, Liz continued her education in Emergency Management and Police Foundations through the Justice Institute BC; CPP with ASIS; and Real Property Manager (RPA) with BOMA International.

Liz currently works for the City of Vancouver as a Security Programs Manager, within City Protective Services, overseeing the Engineering Department as her main Portfolio.

Liz actively volunteers for several organizations locally and internationally, with her passion for security and emergency management as the focus.  She has been involved with our local ASIS chapter for several years as the Women in Security Liaison, and will continue supporting this role.  She was also a member and participated in the ASIS New Zealand Chapter in 2019.  Liz served as the President on the Board of Directors for Vancouver Operation Cooperation, a local network of security professionals promoting safety and security of public and private interests.  She participates in the City of Vancouver’s Volunteer Corp for Emergency Social Services, and Neighbourhood Emergency Assistance Team; contributing her experience and expertise.  After spending several months in South Africa in 2019, she became a Board member for a local Children’s Village, The Small Things Organization; tasked with creating and implementing fire safety and emergency response plans.

In Liz‘s free time she loves to rock-climb, ski and anything on the ocean; recently obtaining her Sailing Boatmasters and Padi Dive certification.
