DUTIES:
The successful candidate:
- Is
responsible for investigations of a highly
confidential nature and ensures the
protection of security sensitive information
and plans
- Investigates
crimes against BC Hydro and its on-duty
employees, including theft of power and
other valuables, property damage, assaults,
arson, etc
- Develops,
writes and recommends standards,
methodologies, procedures and guidelines for
minimizing program security risk
- Performs and
reports on results of vulnerability
assessments with conclusions and
recommendations for improvement, planned
management actions and follow-up status
- Cooperates
and maintains liaison with various police
and investigative agencies
- Provides
consulting services to management on a
variety of security issues and problems
- May also
direct and conduct security surveys and
ensure adherence to standard procedures.
QUALIFICATIONS:
The successful candidate will have:
- A university
degree in a related discipline such as
security management, risk management or
criminal justice plus a designation such as
a certified protection professional or
physical security professional from a
recognized organization such as the American
Society for Industrial Security, Canadian
Society for Industrial Security or
International Security Managers Association
- 10 years of
security-related work experience or
equivalent combination of education and
experience
- Experience
or proven expertise in recommending state of
the art security integrated systems
involving CCTV, card access, digital
recording and monitoring
- Proven
expertise in the investigation of criminal
offences and security breaches, interviewing
of witnesses and gathering of evidence
- Knowledge
and experience in protection of critical
infrastructure assets, including physical
and cyber
- Excellent
verbal and written communication skills and
the ability to deal effectively with groups
and individuals at all levels of the
corporation
- May be
required to obtain and maintain a federal
government security clearance at the
"secret" level or higher.
ADDITIONAL
INFORMATION:
- The
successful candidate must be prepared to
travel throughout the province of BC and
posses a valid BC Driver's License.
